The Preparation, Reflection, Evaluation and Planning day is designed to:

• Help teams to assess their current functioning
• Help teams to determine what improvement they would like to see in their work and identify shared learning objectives
• Help us and the team to determine whether AMBIT training can provide a framework for that improvement
• Assess organisational readiness to change and establish how the team might create a context for learning and improvement. See Developing learning organisations
• Collect baseline measures against which we and the team can measure their progress and the impact of AMBIT

In advance of the PREP day, all involved staff will be asked to complete the PREP Questionnaire

The day itself will consist of three meetings, preferably in this order:

• PREP day: meeting with senior management and commissioners
• PREP day: meeting with team managers and senior staff
• PREP day: meeting the whole team

After the day, the following steps may take place

• A post Prep day passed out discussion with other AMBIT trainers Post-Prep passed-outwards discussion in order to develop an AMBIT training plan linked to team objectives.
• A written report to the team about team objectives and training plan following suggested template Prep Day Team Report
• The training plan will include a proposal about how the team could measure change against these objectives Measuring progress against objectives.
• This may well include the use of POD, POD - a web based outcome measurement system
