PREP day: meeting the whole team

1) Introductions
Senior managers and commissioners introduce the AMBIT Trainers and the reasons for inviting them, share thoughts on the PREP day and what it is hoped it will achieve for the organisation/ team.

AMBIT trainer/s introduce themselves and broadcast their intentions for the day, as outlined here. Explain that we would wish to position ourselves as allies rather than experts, emphasising our stance of Respect local practice and expertise.

2) Elevator Pitch exercise
Group to work in teams or small groups and prepare elevator pitches of one of the following questions:
  • What do we do here?
  • What are we excellent at?
  • What is it like to work here?
  • How do we learn here?

2) PREP Questionnaire feedback
  • Present themes emerging from survey responses.
  • Senior managers, commissioners, team managers and senior staff share their thoughts on the responses
  • Open discussion to whole group

3) Worker energy for change exercise
Note: this exercise may not be practical with a large group. Could chart on a graph and discuss in teams/ small groups.

4) Setting objectives
  • Senior managers and commissioners present their work on objectives and outcomes as discussed earlier in PREP: Setting objectives exercise
  • AMBIT Trainers facilitate group discussion on these
